Decorating the walls: 5 ways to transform a wall into a work of art
When furnishing and decorating a house, it often happens we neglect the walls, usually leaving them white. However, even the walls can be transformed into something special, making our rooms look more beautiful, spacious and elegant.
But how can we do this? If you want to try a bit of DIY, there are many options available. It all depends on your personal taste and the type of furniture you choose. You can choose a decoration type that simply makes use of paint, or even apply panels or adhesive films/cladding, for example.
In this article, we show you some simple projects that will help you in your choice:

Decorating with paint
If you choose to decorate your walls simply with paint, it won't be difficult to find the right solution for you: you can choose from having an entire wall contrast with the rest of the walls, to creating blocks of color on a wall or decorating with vertical stripes. All these techniques are easily done using paint in the chosen colors and specially positioned strips of masking/painter's tape. Paint the wall and when completely dry, simply remove the tape. As simple as that!
The more skilled of you can also attempt to paint more elaborate designs, for example by using the stencil technique: a stencil is put up on the selected wall, the paint is applied and, when it dries, the template is removed, revealing the patterns.
Decorating with panels or adhesive films
If, on the other hand, you choose to decorate with different materials, the techniques are a little more complicated. For example, you can choose to decorate with bricks placed up against the original wall - it's easier if you follow a tutorial (many or online). If using bricks seems too difficult for you, you can always opt for using panels, which you can put up using glue or nails.
There are numerous possibilities on the market today, from wallpaper to panels in many different materials, to adhesive cladding or stencils. All you need to do is choose your favorite technique to customize your walls!
