Mountains of papers and documents at home: tidy up by following these tips
Bills, documents, mail, flyers, instruction manuals, recipe books, study or work notes: even in this digital age, there is always a large amount of paper laying around at home in ever-growing piles, creating clutter. So, dealing with this mess is a priority.
Cataloging, sorting, labeling: it's tiring work at the beginning, but after you create a clear system, it will save you time, effort and stress. And it also becomes easier to clean and tidy up the home. Here are a few ideas to help you manage the your papers more easily:
The most obvious thing to do - but still effective - is to use binders and folders to put your documents into. For all the documents you want to have in paper format, this way of organizing your paperwork is really useful.
And maybe you can spend a bit more and buy binders that have a more refined and elegant look and that will match the room they are kept in.
A combination of boxes and document holders and storage trays also comes in handy. And if they will be visible, it is best to try to match the colors and materials used.
If there's a room dedicated to being a study or an office, then it's probably handy to take advantage of the space on the walls. There are many different types of document pockets and organizers available that you can hang on the wall!
In this way, you can also create a sort of organizational station for the whole house, where you can keep documents and communications that everyone needs, and maybe even a blackboard for messages to exchange with the other residents!
The document pockets can also be made of fabric, and are easy to remove without having to make a thousand holes in the wall. They could also be used to sort incoming mail before it is then read, thrown away or archived properly.
For a nice alternative to office filing cabinets (which can be bulky), you can tidy up document using zipped envelopes, clearly labeled, and placed in baskets and/or decorative boxes.
Colored folders can become a cheerful addition to a sober and serious decor, as often happens in the office.
A multi-shelf trolley can become a mobile document holder which can be moved out of the way whenever necessary.
And if it's wrapping paper you need to store, you can again take advantage of pocket organizers...
.. or create stations for your craft paper tolls on the back of doors, inside wardrobes or on a section of a wall, with baskets and more.
