The secret to achieving an instantly neater, tidier home? Try using baskets

The entrance to the home is one of the areas which gets messy very quickly. But if you think about it, there is always some degree of mess in most rooms in the house.

This is particularly true in homes where there is a habit of taking off one's footwear before entering. And the same can be said for other areas of the home, including the bedroom. The best solution, and one that can really make a difference, is to use a shoe basket.

This really seems like an obvious thing to say, but if you haven't tried this very simple tip yet, maybe you don't realize how useful it is.

Obviously, we're not about taking about just any container: not cardboard boxes or the plastic buckets used to sort out the laundry.

The idea is to spend a little more on a basket that has a pleasant design, and above all, suits the space where it will be placed. So, if it is used at the entrance or in a bedroom, you'll need a large, tall basket which is also sturdy and beautiful to look at.

In the case of baskets to be placed under benches, opt for low, square or rectangular baskets. The same is true for baskets placed in a corridor or inside the open compartments of a furniture unit: this way they won't obstruct passage.

Alternatively, you can consider stacking the baskets or maybe even mounting them on a wall, if possible.

In any case, it's nice to choose materials that really suit the decor. Usually, we think of baskets made of rope or natural fibers woven in decorative motifs, but they could also be made of a more resistant fabric. They will obviously need to be cleaned and deodorized periodically, but it will be nice to have baskets which hide all the shoes that were previously scattered all over the floor.
