On the occasion of some important event, lighting a candle to decorate the house, during a lunch or dinner, or even just in the holiday period, is always a small celebratory gesture that does a lot to create the right atmosphere. Even at Easter, we can prepare candles that echo the themes and decorations typical of this time, creating them with our own hands or choosing the best materials to decorate ready-made ones.

Eggs are always iconic, but there is more: flowers and naturalistic details are essential at Easter, a rebirth celebration that coincides with the awakening of nature. Below are some ideas to inspire you:

If you use eggs, real or fake, you can make molds for modeling candles in a simple way. There are also special mold models in silicone to create wax candles of any color.

Once made, you need to think about how to display them, and an egg carton is a nice idea. But there are also ceramic egg cups that are spectacular for similar decorations.

When you create your candle, you can decide if to add dyes to dye the wax or not; but also think about decorating the outside of the candle itself with glitter, stickers, metallic polka dots and so on.

Using broken shells as guides, you could create a candle with a decidedly modern look: a cement base and the candle on top.

An egg carton is perfect as a base for simple and rustic centerpieces. If you have a balcony or garden, a few leaves, strips of paper and daisies will suffice to decorate everything.

Did you prepare some pressed flowers for a project? You could use them for Easter candles - even egg-shaped ones!

And even if you simply fill the bottom of an eggshell with wax, a wick in the center, you'll have created some super cute candles. Even nicer if you paint them and, if you wish, you could also use a few drops of an essential oil of your choice (or even spices) to give them a unique scent.

To color or dye the candles, you can dissolve a little food coloring or even crayons in the hot wax.

Do you only have ordinary candles? Don't worry, you can wrap them with string, hang up shapes that remind you of Easter, like a bunny or a dove made of any material, and maybe add some flowers.

And if you have standard candle holder jars and bowls, just surround them with flowers and themed decorations for the event in question.

A simple and nice idea is to surround the base of the candle with intertwined branches, to form a nest, and then decorate it with small eggs (fake, real, chocolate... as you wish) and some leaves or flowers (real or artificial).

Happy Easter!
