10 simple tips that will make your life easier
Many everyday objects can prove very useful and help us save time and effort with our daily chores. In today's hectic life, it is important to be able to find solutions that simplify our lives.
From the correct way to use a can opener to time-saving tips at the airport baggage claim area, here are 10 tips that will put a smile on your face.
1. Can opener
We've all been using the can opener the wrong way! If you, like us, have always opened cans using the can opener in the vertical position, this is wrong. The correct position is holding it horizontal to the lid to be removed. This will be much easier.
2. Keeping water cold
Fill a water bottle halfway with water and place it in the freezer in a horizontal position in the evening before going to bed. When you take it out the next morning, the ice will slowly start to melt, keeping the water cold throughout the day.
3. Recycle an old lipstick tube
Have you finished a lipstick? Do not throw away the tube, it can still come in handy. Completely remove all lipstick residue, fill it with water and put it in the freezer. It will become a perfect iced stick to use under your eyes.
4. Orderly rechargers
Create a recharging corner where you can plug in all your electronic devices. You can use an office desk organiser or an old shoebox, a bread bin or a wooden box with dividers. There are so many options and we are sure you will find something you can use for this at home.
5. Clean a carpet with a clothes iron
If your carpet is stained do not despair - it is possible to remove stains effectively in just a few simple steps. Prepare a solution of water and white vinegar in a 1:3 ratio, immerse a white towel in warm water and spray the solution on the stain, thereafter covering it with the towel. At this point, take a hot clothes iron, set to the highest temperature, and pass it over the towel until the stain is completely removed. Your carpet will be like new again!
6. Kitchen towels always neat and tidy
To avoid always finding your kitchen towel lying on the kitchen floor, apply some velcro strips: they will secure the kitchen towel around its support, preventing it from falling to the floor.
7. Long-lasting fragrance
Does the scent of your perfume disappear quickly? To make it last longer, spread some vaseline on your wrist before applying the perfume. You will notice the difference!
8. Soap in your suitcase
When you are travelling, it is inevitable that your dirty laundry will create a bad smell in your suitcase. To prevent this, put a scented bar of soap in the dirty laundry bag.
9. Ever-ready scotch tape
Adhesive/scotch tape is a great resource, but how inconvenient is it when we cannot find the start of the roll? To never lose this place, after use, put a hairgrip near the end: next time it will be ready to use immediately!
10. Suitcase with bows
When you take a plane trip, tie a colored ribbon to your suitcase. You will avoid wasting time and inconvenience at the baggage claim by recognizing your luggage instantly.
