8+ tips for tidying up your home using everyday objects
When we do routine cleaning at home, we usually first deal with clearing and cleaning the visible surfaces and the floor thoroughly. Only occasionally do we have the time to open closets, pantries and drawers to restore some order. In itself, this is not a problem, but when we have to grab something in a hurry from a poorly organized closet, we may end up getting frustrated and causing even more mess.
So, it is advisable to plan ahead and sort out these storage spaces and not allow chaos to spread: to do this, we can use some quick and simple tips, like the ones you can see listed below.
Bagged food in the pantry
The space inside the kitchen cabinets is often ample, and therefore we pile up bags and objects of all kinds inside them. In the case of food bags, however, you can help yourself by treating them as if they were like... little dresses! An expandable rod and document clips are all you need. And it will free up shelf space for so much more!
Beauty products in the drawers
The drawers in the bathroom and bedroom can really become a mess of different things: beauty products, various accessories, hair dryers, straighteners, razors and more. It is better to divide these items into categories, and in the case of various bottles and tubes of cream, a super cheap method consists in dividing any basket into sectors with the help of rubber bands. With these, you can create a grid within which to insert each product, which will always remain in the ideal position.
Under the sink
Under the kitchen sink, we always have many spray products to clean the various surfaces of the house. The most convenient thing to do, when you don't want to invest in cabinets and shelves to arrange in this narrow space, is to take an expandable rod and hang all the spray bottles on it. Under this, you will now find more space for many other things, all kept in order.
Shoes
Even for shoes inside a storage unit, when there isn't a shoe rack, an expandable rod can prove to be invaluable: with this, you can actually create two levels to store shoes and slippers or flat sandals!
Food packages in the fridge
Need to store plates and bowls of left-over food in the fridge? Those don't stack as easily as containers with lids and you risk spilling them... unless you have some wooden chopsticks ready (or something similar), to make a stable base!
