6 imaginative, creative crafts projects to do using pasta
There are many materials that can be used to undertake creative craft projects to entertain children and help them develop their motor skills.
The only ingredient that should never be missing is imagination. Indeed, some creative craft projects are so easy that even those who are not too familiar with DIYing can do them - including children. In this article, we want to focus on a particular type of creative craft material: pasta. You can make beautiful things using pasta. Check out the ideas below:
To get started, you must first chose the types and colors for the pasta. The four types that it is advisable to use for the the projects described here are: penne, fusilli, farfalle (butterflies) and wheels. Then, choose a color for each of these and proceed to the best part, with the help of the kids. Put each shape of pasta separately in a glass with water and add food coloring (in the colors you chose earlier). Let the pasta stand in the water for about 8 hours, drain and let it dry. At this point, the pasta should be colored and ready to use to make your creations.
To create a picture with flowers as a subject, use all four shapes of pasta. With fusilli you can easily make the stem; with the wheels, make the pistils; and with penne and farfalle, the colored petals. Naturally, this is only guide, because there are no limits to creativity and personal taste and, even by combining the formats in different ways, each work will be amazing and unique. Test the design first by placing the pasta pieces on the sheet and then, when you are sure, glue them down with PVA or hot glue.
To make a cute sun, draw, color and cut it out first on another sheet. Stick the cut-out on a piece of colored paper and add penne pasta to simulate the rays.
If you want to make cute little butterflies, place a piece of penne pasta as the body for each butterfly, farfalle pieces for the wings. Glue the pasta pieces to each other and to the paper. Then, add antennae with amarker.
For a colorful necklace to make, for example, on Mother's Day, thread the pasta onto a piece of string. A good idea is to alternate a piece of penne and a wheel but you can use whatever combinations you want.
The same goes if you want to make a colorful bracelet. We have added beads to our example, alternating them with the farfalle pieces. But, using your imagination, you can chose many different combinations.
And finally, here's another type of butterfly - this time depicted flying over a lawn (and created using farfalle pasta pieces). Stick a bunch of them in different colors on a sheet and make the grass with farfalle pieces colored green and broken in half. You can add other details such as antennas and flight paths with a marker for a truly original drawing.
