Every day we throw away a lot of things that we could recycle. Plastic containers, in particular, are among these things we tend to throw away.

We throw out many of these container without realizing that, with a little creativity, we an transform them into useful objects.

It's really easy, for example, to transform plastic containers into cute storage baskets or flower holders perfect for any corner of the house or even for very original gift ideas. Check out the ideas below:

To make a cute basket, you can use a plastic container with a lid - like the ones that contain spreadable cheeses. Spread some liquid glue on the external surface, using a small brush or a wooden stick and clad the jar with burlap. Then, take a rectangle of patterned fabric, large enough to cover the neck of the jar and a bit on the inside. Put some hot glue on the upper edge of the container and attach the lower edge of your fabric rectangle to this. Fold up the rest of the fabric to cover the inside of the basket. Clad the lid with burlap and apply ribbons and other details to both the container and the lid, according to your tastes. With little effort, you have a fabulous storage basket, to be used, for example, for needles, thread, balls of yarn and similar.

To make a basket useful for storing bathroom accessories in, you can use the same type of plastic container used in the example above. This time, cover the outer surface with the sticks obtained by splitting wooden clothes pegs in half. Use hot glue to glue them to the outside of the container. When you have covered the outside, clad the inside with a patterned material. Tie some twine around the basket and secure it with a bow. This will serve to decorate the basket and secure the peg halves. This wooden basket will be perfect for your bathroom.

Finally, to create a magnificent flower basket, use a square or rectangular plastic container. Those used for fruit will be perfect, for example. Using hot glue, stick on some wooden sticks, positioning them next to each other until the entire external surface is clad. Add some cord and other accessories to decorate and finish the edges. Now you just have to compose your floral arrangement.
