The shower cubicle is the wettest place in the house and therefore is the one most prone to mold growing. If it can be difficult to prevent or remove mold from walls, tiles and shelves. And there is one area of the shower cubicle where the task becomes almost impossible: the door runner/rail/track.

There are many products that allow us to effectively remove mold while also preventing its growth. Bleach is an obvious choice, but there is an equally effective alternative: hydrogen peroxide. Let's find out together how to use hydrogen peroxide with sheets of absorbent paper towels to get rid of mold from the shower's runner permanently.

To definitively solve a mold problem, just use two simple ingredients:

  • 10 volumes (3%) hydrogen peroxide (the type commonly used at home);
  • absorbent paper towel roll: both kitchen paper and toilet paper (preferably the 2-ply) or the blotting paper rolls used in factories will be fine.

The procedure is very simple and very quick: in fact, you just need to place 3 layers of absorbent paper on the runner (we advise you to use pieces which are the exact length of the runner), then pour hydrogen peroxide over them until they are wet. Press the paper down so that it adheres properly to the runner and leave it to act for at least 2 hours (or even overnight).

When you remove the paper, the dirt will come off easily. Remove any residue with the help of an old toothbrush and your runner will be like new again!

If you don't have hydrogen peroxide at home, you can also use vinegar, a paste of baking soda and water or citric acid (150 g in 1 liter of water) or lemon juice. The result will be equally impressive.
