10 amazing DIY planters to grow aromatic herbs in at home
Aromatic herbs are an indispensable ingredient in many dishes: they enrich the flavor of savory and sweet dishes, flavor drinks of all kinds and are also useful in a myriad of DIY remedies - from homemade beauty products to ways to repel unwanted insects. And then they are often very easy to grow, as well as being beautiful. Further, They encourage the presence of pollinating insects, which are essential for the survival of our ecosystem. So why not grow some herbs at home?
Perhaps we do not have a lot of space, but there are ways of growing these plants in pots and planters that don't take up much space. Check out the suggestions below:
Instead of putting up shelves to hold books or jars, you can place pot plants (herbs) on them. Obviously, the pots must be near some windows to benefit from the sunlight.
And an array of herbs could even become an alternative to curtains, if you mount them in front of a window!
And then there are vertical planters you can make using parts of pallets (which are easy to find and cost very little).
Do you have any large tin cans laying around? Clean them out and then drill all the holes you need in them to hang them up - thereby turning them into vases for all your aromatic herbs.
Another great recycling classic when you want to grow herbs at home: glass jars. Good drainage must be ensured, so be careful when drilling holes in the bottoms!
Here's a combo of pallets and glass jars (which have been painted). Remember, however, only paint the outside of the jars: they decorate your environment wonderfully!
Using a little space on the balcony, raised flower beds can be created using wooden boxes.
And don't forget the labels, which, besides being beautiful to look at, always help us find the aromatic herb we need.
