Quality over savings: 7 common products it's best to spend a little more on
None of us are immune to getting things on the cheap: getting a bargain can be very satisfying. Sometimes, choosing the cheapest option is a necessity, of course, but when there is some ability to be able to aim a little higher, spending a little more could be preferable.
There are some categories of products that come with very low prices, but which do not perform their function properly, or prove to be short-lived, forcing us to have to buy new ones frequently. Furthermore, some can even be harmful to our well-being. Below, you will find a list of some items where it is better to focus on quality rather than low prices.
Shoe insoles
We can't always afford the best quality shoes, but when we can, they turn out to be a blessing for our well-being, especially if they are the ones we wear often.
Sometimes, however, even good shoes are not as comfortable as had hoped for. Or perhaps you spend a lot of time on your feet. Then, there are times when we bought a pair of low-cost shoes but they turned out to be too big. All these problems can be solved by purchasing insoles - but be careful: it's best to spend a bit more for high-quality ergonomic and comfortable insoles.
Smartphone cases
Most of us now have smartphones and we know that they are fragile objects: a single drop can destroy a smartphone. And then, we have to spend a lot of money getting a new one.
It is best to avoid these unpleasant accidents as much as possible by investing in high-quality protective cases: less worries and more money in your pocket.
Office chair
Many of us find ourselves working or studying for hours in front of a computer, sitting in a chair which is not properly ergonomic. Your health depends on good posture, so it's best to buy a high-quality chair, if you can.
Pots
Pots, pans, frying pans: whatever utensils we use to cook, the more well-made it is, the better it will cook our food. Think of the waste that a cheap grill causes when it always burns or ruins fine cuts of meat!
Sheets
A much-debated issue: in the vast majority of cases, pure cotton sheets are considered by many to be the best. Cotton (and cotton blends), however, is also a fabric that soaks up sweat, and should be changed very often. From this point of view, it might be best to go for silk sheets.
Cosmetics
Creativo
Our hair and skin are washed very often and treated with many beauty products. It is worth finding out what cosmetic ingredients are best suited for our needs, and to seek out the brands whose formulations meet these. Often (but not always!) they cost a little more, but the results are well worth it.
Warm socks
Creativo
When we are at home, it is a pleasure to have some warm, thick, soft socks on our feet. Many of us have bought socks like these on the cheap. But most of the time, cheap socks are made of synthetic materials, which do not keep are feet warm, nor absorb sweat.
If you really want good socks, then look for woollen ones (especially those made from merino wool), which are often found in sports departments: they are thick, comfortable, and very warm!
