Mistakes to avoid when having the radiators on
When it gets cold, and we have to turn on the radiators during the day - inevitably running up the heating bill - we certainly want to be sure that we don't waste any energy.
There are many precautions that can help us avoid wasting heat, and amongst these is a simple tip. This is something that many already do and it really helps to keep the warmth in the house. Read on to find out more:
A short video from the @the.cosyclub account on TikTok, urges us to go around the house to make sure that we are not making any mistakes when it comes to preserving heating in the home.
Considering that the heat produced by the radiators radiates from the unit into the room, a mistake that can be made is to unintentionally block the radiators with the furniture or other large items.
This often happens in the bedroom or living room, where beds or sofas end up being positioned too close to the heaters. Mistakenly, some believe that this will warm up the bed itself, but in reality, the heat will not circulate in the room, causing an opposite effect.
So, if you leave enough space, your heating will work more efficiently... and more effectively! Check out the video here.
Further, deal with any drafts coming in from the windows and under the doors. And perhaps use heat-reflecting panels (or foil) behind the radiators. Following these simple tips, your home will be appreciably warmer!
Do you remember to always move furniture away from the radiators?
