Find a place for everything you need in the kitchen with the right space-saving ideas
If we use the kitchen a lot, we surely also need a certain organization in this location: everything we use most often should be close at hand, positioned in an intelligent way. Without this planning, moving around the kitchen can be cumbersome.
To make sure that every space and surface is able to accommodate everything you need, you can use storage units, hooks, dividers, and more. These are tools necessary for tidying up and making even the most cramped kitchens efficient. Below, are some useful examples:
Many types of fruit and vegetables shouldn't be stored in the fridge, but in the open: keeping them in baskets becomes the ideal solution. And in order not to take up space on the countertops, these baskets can be mounted on the wall.
If a sidewall of some piece of furniture doesn't sit quite flush with a door or window frame, there may be room to fit a small slim shelf in this recess.
Don't underestimate how handy a dish rack can be to tidy up all the utensils we leave to drain next to the sink.
Rolls of parchment paper and similar are often mounted on special dispensers on the wall. But it is also very useful to keep them in a shallow drawer.
Hooks: these are really a precious ally for tidying up. You can hang cups and mugs from them, mouting the hooks on the underside of a shelf inside some kitchen wall unit.
Or, hooks can be used to hold ladles and spatulas.
A sliding, deep drawer could be the best place to put the garbage bins so as not to have them in the way and hide them from view - but still easy to access.
There will always be several things that we keep on the kitchen counter. It's best, however, to store them in a basket or some similar container.
And tidying up under the sink is a big step towards restoring order: perhaps start using a rod on which to hang all the spray bottles.
Tracking on the walls - which can also be magnetic: in addition to being functional, they can be decorative too.
If having breakfast or a coffee break is an unbreakable ritual, why not consider setting up a corner dedicated to this with everything you need?
Rods are also very useful mounted on the sides of kitchen furniture to hold many utensils.
In this example, the wall becomes a display for pans, cutlery and various other utensils thanks to a simple, pegboard panel.
