Laddered pantyhose: here are 3 incredible ways to reuse them
Counting the number of stockings/pantyhose that get holes or ladders in them, is practically impossible. This is an inconvenience that occurs frequently, sometimes a few times in just one day. And everyone who wears pantyhose knows this fact very well.
What interests us is to provide you with ways to reuse pantyhose when they can no longer be worn to avoid throwing them away. Given this, the satisfaction of reusing pantyhose and saving money is very gratifying.
Here, then, are three incredible ways to recycle your old, laddered pantyhose:
To show these is Raffaella Girardi, the creator behind the Instagram profile @home_buldog, where she shares homecare, cleaning and decorating tips with her followers. In one clip, she illustrates three ways to reuse ruined pantyhose. These are summarized below:
- With the upper part of the pantyhose, i.e. the crotch area, you can take advantage of the electrostatic property of the pantyhose and create a cloth to capture dust. Cut the crotch area out with scissors (and which usually has a more resistant and thick texture). Wrap it around the base of the broom or brush that you usually use as a duster. Tie a knot where it is needed to secure the pantyhose and pass it over the floor (or other dusty area). You will be truly amazed by the results.
- With the part of the hose that corresponds to the ankles (and which is the narrowest and most elastic), you can make hair ties. All you need to do is cut strips of the right thickness and use them to tie up/back your hair. Seeing is believing!
- Finally, the foot area (which has the shape of a sock), can be transformed into a bag into which you can put half a lemon, to hang inside the dishwasher to keep bad smells away.
