Whether large or small, in a garden there is always a need for a place to sit down to enjoy the time spent outdoors, alone or in company. And when our gardens are very scenic, it is really useful to place a bench in a strategic place, so that you can sit and admire your favorite corners of the garden.

Of course, there are many models of benches on the market, made of wood, metal and more. But if you would like to try and create something more unique and personalized, there is no shortage of inspiration for fantastic DIY projects, such as the ones we describe below:

If space permits, it is very nice to integrate planters with the benches, so as to decorate them with any type of plant you like and adapt them to the environment.

A home-made bench can be any size you want. So, when it is wide and long enough, it can also become a sunbed to relax on outdoors.

Square-shaped planters joined together by thick wooden planks that will act as seats: a modular project to frame courtyards, terraces and balconies!

Two robust vases and a seat that joins them: this is a bench with simple and captivating shapes.

Two vertical rocks, of the same height, and a thick wooden plank for a seat: simple, but beautiful in many different contexts.

And if the appropriate rocks cannot be found, the pillars of the bench can be made with bricks!

Benches made using natural wood are always fascinating: logs, trusses, sleepers and planks, which are treated to resist harsh weather, never go out of style.

And a seat made with a thick, wooden plank/slab can also fit into specially carved grooves in the base trunks placed at both ends.

You could also recycle old chairs, combining them to make a single, larger seat!

A few long wooden planks can also unite two tires stuck into the ground: a truly original idea for a garden bench!
