A piece of soap for a thousand cleaning chores: take advantage of the cloth tip

We all have products that we certainly love to use in individual rooms of the home: favorite cleaning products/detergents for the kitchen, others for the shower, and again, yet others for the different worktops, walls or surfaces. However, our stash of detergents is not always stocked with every product, and there are times when one (or more) is missing. In these cases, we could consider using a more versatile type of soap which is capable of cleaning many different surfaces.

Marseille soap is the alternative for many and is very popular in homes. Often, however, Marseille soap needs to be in flake form to be used in this way. But what if we don't have enough time to grate a bar of Marseille soap? There is an easy, quick method to deal with this: by using a cloth.

Solid soap has the advantage of lasting a long time, often costs much less than liquid soap and has much lower environmental impact than bottles of normal detergents. If it is also effective, then it is worth exporing this alternative.

So, for all the surfaces that you can usually clean with a soft cloth, do this: just take a fragment of Marseille soap, wet a cloth with very hot water (be careful not to burn yourself) , wring it out and place the fragment of soap in the center of the cloth. At this point, fold everything in half, so that the soap is trapped between the layers of cloth. Now you just need to rub the cloth/soap over the surface to be cleaned.

You could make the task even easier if the fragment of soap has also been dipped into the warm water. This will be like having a sponge soaked in your favorite cleaning product.

This method also works with other solid soaps of natural origin, such as Castile, black or yellow soap. For example, when it comes to delicate soaps, you can clean not only the worktops, sinks and sanitary fixtures and bathroom tiles, but also (with due care) leather (or faux leather) upholstery.

In short, this is an easy and useful expedient when you run out of your favorite cleaning product!
