Failed furnishing choices: 8 cases of bad taste and little practical value
When choosing the furniture for your home, you usually do it with care. After all, you want to avoid making the wrong choices from both from an aesthetic and spatial point of view. And getting some pointers from professionals is not bad advice either.
Each house has its own quirks, a unique distribution of space and other characteristics which need to be considered when deciding to furnish or decorate it. Otherwise, you risk making mistakes that are not easily undone. But there are many who rush in and make these types of mistakes.
If you are curious to see some of these, check out the images below:
Some will have identified immediately what this is: a chair to kneel on, an ergonomic one. Aesthetically, it is perhaps not much to look at, but the worst thing about this case is how small it is - no bigger than a footrest. Will it really be comfortable and ergonomic?
The room in the photo is a somewhat risky mix between a bathroom and a corner bar. It is certainly in poor taste, but some could argue that it is not a completely illogical choice.
Anyone who has put such a large mattress into such a small room will realize they have made a mistake. However, if we want to look for a positive side, at least falling out of bed will be quite difficult.
How they managed to design a wardrobe, whose opening is blocked by the light fitting, is a mystery. This is an accident just waiting to happen.
With such a guady and kitsch toilet one can only imagine what the rest of the house will look like. Surely someone "very creative" lives here.
Square loo, round lid. A toilet like this is certainly original, but the lid is completely useless.
Whoever decorated this room got a little too carried away. Was it a serial hoarder who did this?
And, finally, here is a display of furniture from the eighties - a historical period certainly not remembered for its sobriety. It's true that a touch of color in the home never hurts. This, however, is really a bit too much.
Have you seen other furnishing abominations like this in your travels?
