Iced-over windshield: a quick and easy way to clear it
In some parts of the world, winter is a season that brings with it a whole series of challenges, starting with the struggle with snow and ice that make many chores much more difficult. In fact, in places with colder temperatures, it is not uncommon to have to deal with the car's windshield being covered in ice in the morning.
When you are caught unprepared for this eventuality, you usually have to heat some water and then pour it on the glass, or scrape away the layer of ice and frost with a scraper - and usually just enough to allow you to see out and drive safely. However, there is a really easy and fast method to deal with this inconvenience: in fact, it simply requires the use of an airtight plastic bag.
First, make sure you have a good quality plastic bag ready in the kitchen, or even in the car, and that has good hermetic seal.
If on leaving the house, you realize that the windshield is covered in ice, you only need to fill this bag with hot water, leaving enough space (about a third) so that you can close it easily. Do not use boiling water - which could melt the plastic - hot tap water will do.
When your bag of hot water is ready, you just need to place it on the windshield and slide it over the glass, moving it up and down with regular movements to melt the ice.
You can see in this video how easy, fast and effective this method is. It is a much more convenient remedy than a pot or kettle of water to pour on the windshield. It will obviously also be necessary to turn on the interior heating as soon as possible, to avoid undoing the job - but it will certainly be less annoying than with other methods.
