The brushes tip for getting super-soft towels

Having super-soft and fluffy towels are what everyone wants. In reality, over time and with continuous washing, towels tend to become rough and dry because their fibers harden.

As a result, towels become less efficient at drying. And they are become rough to the touch. So, at some point, it becomes necessary to replace old towels. If you don't want to do this regularly, you can take a few steps to prolong their lives.

One of steps is the tip described as "the brush method". Read on to find out more:

Strange but true, hard towels can become soft again with the help of a certain type of brush.

This brush is the rectangular type used to do manicures. In the absence of this, however, any type of brush (or toothbrush) with hard bristles can be used (such as those for scrubbing surfaces). The important thing is, of course, that the brush is clean.

That said, the correct way to use the brush is immediatly after washing and drying the towels. Spread a towel out on a horizontal surface and brush it gently. The fibers will become much less rough quickly and the towel will be noticeably softer.

As we have said, it is useful to take some further steps to keep your towels soft for longer (aside from using the brush method).

Some steps to keep in mind are:

  • Use baking soda instead of fabric softener: although fabric softener ensures instant softness, some chemical components dry out the fibers in the long run. It is certainly better to put baking soda in the softener tray and, if necessary, add a few drops of essential oil for perfuming.
  • Avoid washing towels with other items: to keep them soft for longer, try washing towels alone, without mixing them with other items.
  • Pay attention to the water temperature: always take into account the recommended washing temperature indicated on the towel's label.
  • Do not overload the washing machine: try to wash the towels without putting too many in the drum, because it is always best that they are not packed in - otherwise, the fibres will suffer.
  • Alternate tumble drying with air drying: towels seem noticeably fluffier when they are right out of the dryer. However, using the dryer all the time, in the long run, will damage the towels much sooner. It's much better to alternate drying methods.
