Framed Pokemon pictures: a super-easy DIY project to make adorable gifts
A bare wall in the home is a lost opportunity: paintings, prints, illustrations of various kinds or any other type of wall art you want to try out are just waiting to find their place in your home. So, in the children's room there could be a series of illustrations of Pokemon put up (Pokemon are famous cartoon characters). These characters are immediately recognizable, and bring with them a whole range of shapes and colors that every young fan knows by heart (and even those who aren't really teenagers anymore)!
A TikTokker has found a way to transform her son's passion for Pokemon into an opportunity to decorate his bedroom with some very simple DIY projects: framed Pokemon pictures. Read on to find out more:

Showing this process is @buildandcreatehome on TikTok. And it's a quick, easy project. Here's what you need:
- One or more simple white frames (20 x 25 cm are used in the video, but this will also depend on the size of the prints you want to use);
- Painter's masking tape;
- Red spray paint;
- Black Washi tape (adhesive rice-paper tape used for sketchbooks and similar);
- Your Pokemon themed illustrations.
The procedure:
- Place sheets of newspaper, or opened, old boxes on the ground, preferably in a room where you won't risk damaging the paint - better still, do this project outdoors;
- Cover half of each frame with masking tape, leaving no visible cracks;
- Place the frame on the newspaper and paint the half of the frame not covered by the masking tape with the red paint. Let it dry thoroughly, according to the directions on the paint can;
- Remove all the masking tape;
- Apply a piece of black washi tape directly over the point where the white paint meets the red paint: you will need two pieces for each frame, and take care to lay them straight;
- At this point, you just need to insert your illustration into the frame and hang it up.
As for the illustrations you see in the video, the TikToker explains that they are images purchased on Etsy and then printed by a local print shop. Avoid using low-quality prints.
The frames will now be in the colors of a poké ball, containing the Pokemon character inside it. Would you like to try this project? They would make nice, personalized gifts!
