5 good reasons to always have bars of soap at home
When we need to wash our hands quickly, we usually find it more convenient to have a liquid soap dispenser near the sink. And even for the body, solid soap bars are rarely used these days - even though soap bars are considered to be more eco-friendly. Soap in solid form, however, has a number of advantages that go beyond just its reduced environmental impact.
In fact, solid soap bars can be used to solve small problems that can occur in everyday life around the home. They can, for example, stop fogging of windows in the bathroom and be used as a deodorant. Read on to find out more:
Prevent mirrors from fogging
When you take a shower or a bath, the mirror always ends up steaming up (unless it's a modern, heated one). Among the various tips to prevent this, there is also the use of a bar of soap. Take any bar of soap, rub it on the mirror, leaving light traces over the entire surface. At this point, take a soft cloth (one that does not leave lint or will scratch the mirror) and rub over the mirror until all traces of the soap have been removed.
You will have covered the glass with a thin, invisible film of soap which will now prevent fogging!
Squeaky hinges
If any door in your home squeaks when you open it, it means that the hinges need to be lubricated. And you can do this using a bar of soap!
No soap dish necessary
Sometimes, using a bar of soap to wash your hands is annoying because it always ends up in a puddle of jellified soap and water on the sink. In addition to using soap dishes that avoid this problem, you can also take advantage of the "solidness" of the bar of soap for a space-saving trick: insert a magnet into the soap, so that, after using it, you can attach the bar to a tap. In this way, the wet bar of soap will drip into the sink!
Air perfumer in wardrobes and drawers
Creativo
One of the cheapest ways to perfume drawers and cabinets is to leave bars of soap in them. This is also a great way to use small pieces of soap which you would otherwise throw away.
Gathering up glass shards
When a glass object drops and breaks, it is easy to miss cleaning up some hard-to-see glass shards. You can use a bar of soap to do this task. Turn on a torch (which you might have on your cell phone), hold it obliquely and you will see any remaining shards. At this point, wet one side of the bar of soap with a little hot water and pass it over the shards so that they adhere to the soap. You can then carefully remove them from the soap, using a knife to scrape them off into the garbage.
Bars of soap are really useful, don't you think?
