Is your shower cubicle really clean? There is one part that we often forget to clean
Cleaning the shower cubicle always requires care: in fact, keeping the shower clean requires a fair amount of regular effort. For instance, you have to remember to clean every part of the shower regularly: the glass partitions, the tiles on the wall, the duckboard, the drain, the taps... and what else needs to be done?
There is one thing that we don't always remember to clean, because we actually don't see it with the naked eye. And it also depends on the type of shower. Read on to find out more:
Some shower cubicles have a door that opens by sliding on a track, while others have a regular hinged system. In the first case, it is likely that we will not forget to clean the rails on which the door slides. But what about a hinged-door model?
As a TikTok video from @cleanhappyco's account shows, even the underside of the door can get dirty. Water and soap runs down the glass and settles at the bottom of the door.
As you can see in the TikTok video, if you pass a cloth on the underside of the shower door, it is likely that you will find it to be very dirty. So, how do we clean this part of the shower? It's actually very easy. You will need:
- A good detergent: it's best if you use one that has bleach in it to fight mold. Alternatively, a multi-purpose degreaser and disinfectant - even a homemade one - will do. Be careful if you have rubber gaskets/seals nearby as bleach or vinegar can damage them.
- One or more microfibre cloths. Alternatively, you could use an old towel, or even thick paper towels.
As you can guess, what you need to do is intuitive: spray the cleaning product on the area to be cleaned (or, if you prefer, spray it directly on a cloth), and, whilst wearing gloves, rub the cloth on the underside of the door. If the cloth gets very dirty, switch to a second to complete the job.
When was the last time you cleaned the underside of your shower door?
