Perfume your home while using the vacuum cleaner: a few simple tips
We all know that if we want to effectively remove dust, hair, crumbs and fine dirt that cannot be collected in any other way, there is nothing better than a vacuum cleaner. There are many different models, with different accessories, functions and power levels, but they all do an excellent job when it comes to sucking up dirt from the floor and various other surfaces.
However, it often happens that during use, the hot air that is blown out of the ventilation grilles has a slightly unpleasant smell. This also happens because perhaps we have forgotten to properly clean the various parts of the appliance. It is possible to counteract this phenomenon and we can perfume the house whilst using the vacuum cleaner (and a few simple tips).
Creativo
If you have a vacuum cleaner with the collection tank that opens or detaches, you can pour a little baking soda and a couple of drops of any essential oil into it. Alternatively, you can pour in some ground cinnamon or another spice that's finely ground.
If, on the other hand, the vacuum cleaner has a collection bag, you can obtain a similar effect by placing the scented bicarbonate on the floor (a couple of spoons are enough, mixed with the oil in a glass before placing the mixture onto the floor). Then, vaccum the scented bicarb up (which will now perfume the house as you vacuum). Alternatively, you can put a few drops of essential oil directly onto the collection bag. Balsamic or citrus scents are perfect for these purposes.
Again, if the appliance conveys the dirt into a tank which is filled with water, you can add the essential oil directly to the tank.
Don't forget maintenance: the above methods will have little effect if the vacuum cleaner is not properly cleaned and maintained. This means that after each use - especially if the appliance has done a lot of work - it is necessary to clean the accessories, the hoses and all the parts of the appliance that can be easily detached from the main body. The housings for the bags and the tanks must also be cleaned. Finally, it is necessary to clean or replace the filters, following the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
By paying attention to these tips, it will be easy to create a pleasant smell in your home while vacuuming!
