Humidity in the home: tips that will help combat this
If the sight of condensation running down your windows is something you are used to, it most likely means that there is too much humidity in the room. Condensation on glass is inevitable when there are large temperature differentials between inside and outside atmospheres. But if condensation formation persists when there are no conditions to cause it, then perhaps it is time to dehumidify the environment.
The problem becomes even more pressing if we notice other warning signs: dark spots on walls and ceilings, which signal the growth of mold which can affect our health. In the most serious cases, you might have to consult a professional. But in milder cases, some timely, home-grown interventions can help.

In environments such as the garage, the cellar, or perhaps an attic, you can make a rudimentary dehumidifier using rock salt: equip yourself with two sturdy plastic buckets, one to be inserted into the other. In the inner bucket, drill holes into the bottom - small holes, but numerous. Then put it this bucket into the other one and fill it with rock salt. Salt is hygroscopic, therefore it absorbs humidity. Now, you can place this inexpensive device in a corner of any room, remembering to periodically check if the outermost bucket has filled with water (which you can then empty out).
Something similar can be done in rooms that we more often, such as the bathroom or the kitchen. Get some scraps of breathable fabric (gauze, light cotton, light linen and similar) and a few glass jars. Fill each jar with rock salt, add a few drops of essential oil, cover with the cloth (held in place with an elastic band) and place the jars in the damp areas of the rooms. You will need to empty the jars every time you notice that the salt has started to dissolve and the jars have filled with water. Notwithstanding this, it is a simple and inexpensive operation.
If you have a room where you can hang up your laundry, remedies like this one can help counteract the humidity that forms as the clothes dry out!
