11 ideas to recycle glass jars to decorate every room of your home
Do you ever think how much the right container in the right place helps to keep things tidy? On a desk, on the kitchen shelves, in the bathroom ... baskets, boxes and jars are useful in every area of our homes. And empty glass jars are very easy to get hold of.
Jams, yogurts, pickles and brines: come to think of it, there are many glass jars that we use and throw away regularly. If instead you want to recycle them creatively, take a look at the ideas below:
Larger jars are ideal as ladle holders for the kitchen (or perhaps as paint brush holders for artists). They can be decorated in a thousand different ways: by painting them, using decoupage, sticking on appliques, etc ... just use your imagination!
Smaller jars, on the other hand, can be used as pots for succulents - to be watered only sporadically. Alternatively, you can try to (carefully!) drill holes for drainage in the bottom of them (not advised for beginners!).
Perhaps the simplest way to use old glass jars is to use them as candle holders: wax candles but also battery-operated electric ones, and even battery-operated strings of fairy lights.
A slit in the lid (properly blunted) can turn a jar into a tissue dispenser.
Add a support to act as a pedestal, paint the pedestal, and fill the jar with colored candies: they will be a cute and delicious decoration for the home.
Do you want to tidy up the clips, pins and other accessories laying around on your office desk? Put them inside these decorated jars.
A bit of paint, and these old yogurt pots become pots for plants and even look like ceramics (or terracotta, if you want, with the right paint).
An economical option to put all your spices, grains and seeds that you use in the kitchen into identical jars: tidy and beautiful to look at.
With their lids secured to the underside of a shelf, these jars will give you extra storage compartments in any room that needs extra space.
By converting them into pen holders, you can also insert a grid which will hold individual pencils or pens.
You can also color and tint your jars without them losing their transparency!
