Lights mounted in a false ceiling: 11 ideas from which to draw inspiration for illuminating stylishly

We all know that adequate lighting is an integral part of successful home decoration. This does not only mean finding lamps and fittings that perfectly match the rooms, but also positioning them in such a way that each room is illuminated in a functional, comfortable and stylish way.

For some time now, false ceilings have been added in locations around dwellings that house spotlights positioned in strategic places and which can be switched on and off independently of each other. And you can do even more, with hidden LED lights (behind or in a false ceiling) that cast luminous shapes and patterns on the ceiling and walls. Check out the ideas below:

Spotlights on the sides, to illuminate the walls from above and then a luminous area in the centre. This effect is created by inserting LEDs hidden by the false ceiling that descends along the perimeter. It's a standard solution that always works well.

Sometimes, a false ceiling is designed so that the central area descends, and then the light radiates to the sides. By keeping the light source hidden, the effect is diffused and very elegant.

Another idea: instead of placing the lights behind the false ceiling, fit them into a wooden element that decorates the room. They can be positioned over a focus-grabbing table, for example…

... or into boards hung from the ceiling itself!

In general, false ceilings are made of plasterboard: they are light, and you can have them cut into a thousand shapesand mount them at different heights - even in the same room.

For more modern designs, use light like it was painting a picture or pattern: in this way, the light beams are allowed to pass through more artfully created slits in the panels.

Pure geometric shapes are very popular in this type of interior design.

The idea of "drawing" shapes with light on the ceiling can also be limited to one area and using different lighting methods for the rest of the room.

The raised circles on this ceiling add a visually soothing element - perfect in the living room but also in the bedroom or bathroom.

This type of lighting solution is also beautiful in passageways and narrow and long corridors (which immediately become more interesting).

Another very attractive option to consider: blades of light that descend at an angle along the walls from the ceiling. Truly amazing.

Which idea do you like best?
