Metal bottle caps: 11 ways to recycle them creatively
Small, light and colourful: metal bottle caps - such as those from beer or certain fizzy drinks - are objects that we throw away without thinking. But if you think about it, they can be recycled.
If you have no idea what you can do with the metal caps that you usually throw away, don't worry: below are some nice ideas to inspire you. And maybe a creative project will emerge that you, and your kids, can get involved in.
Make a small hole in the center of each cap, and then thread a bunch of them like you are making a necklace: in the end, you will get the body of a snake! Now, all you need to do is add a head and the tip of the tail!
Pinch them in half with pliers, paint them and each cap will become a petal or a leaf of some imaginative flower which will create adorable displays.
Or, they could become the wings of butterflies or ladybugs - ideal for small, nice creations such as magnets, lapel pins, and more!
A metal and cork flower can also be made using caps whihc are slightly folded at the edges like petals. Together, these will form a rich corolla.
And why not think of them as colored tiles to create stylized pictures? You can simply glue them onto a wooden board and the job's done!
Some even manage to make mini sculptures out of them, like this miniature motorcycle.
If, on the other hand, you flatten them out with the help of a hammer (eliminating their jagged edges) they can be sued to decorate, for example, the top of a table.
And what if you turned them into miniature picture frames? They will be a completely unique decoration to put on a wall.
Or they could frame a mirror: best to use ones with cheerful colors!
Another idea to take advantage of the sound of jingling metal: use them to make a wind chime.
And instead of a basket ball hoop made from nylon netting, you can use a wind chime made in the same shape.
Let your imagination run wild!
