Tired of the noise of sneakers banging in the washing machine? Try this simple tip
Washing sneakers in the washing machine is a quick and easy way to clean them. However, when we put our shoes in the washing machine, we rarely wash them together with other clothes or even other shoes.
As a result, with only two shoes inside, as soon as the washing cycle begins, the sneakers will bounce around noisily for at least half an hour (or more). This noise can be really annoying for us - and for the neighbors. Is there any way to eliminate this noise and still get clean shoes? The answer is yes, and one method is shown on TikTok.
This is one tip that you need to try to see if it works for you. For sure, you will notice a marked reduction in noise (if not completely eliminated).
To show the method, @livecomposed has posted an instructional video to TikTok.
Here how this is done:
- Take the sneakers to be washed and tie them together with their laces.
- When done, hold the sneakers in front of the drum, without placing them inside.
- Ensure that the top of the laces (knotted at the top) are above the level of the drum's door.
- Close the door, leaving the knotted ends of the laces on the outside.
That's it: the door locks the lace in the seal, and the sneakers remain suspended in the drum. They will be washed but without banging off the inside of the drum during the wash cycle.
Will the sneakers be washed and rinsed properly? Watch the video to judge this, or better still, try it yourself at home and decide whether or not to adopt this method. Alternatively, you could toss in an old towel when you wash your sneakers in the old-fashoined way.
