Sofas and armchairs upholstered in microfiber: a TikTok tip to remove all dirt and stains
Upholstery in microfibre is one of the most common materials found in living rooms: sofas, armchairs and footstools are often upholstered in this durable fabric. It also comes in a myriad of shades, and above all, is not particularly expensive.
However, unlike other, more expensive materials, microfiber surfaces are a little less forgiving when it comes to dirt. Certain spots and stains remain even after forming cleaning. On TikTok, however, a content creator tried out a popular cleaning tip on a microfiber upholstered footrest that had not been cleaned for 10 years. Read on to find out more:
The TikToker we're talking about is @livecomposed, a specialist in home hacks/tips and cleaning products. This time, the TikTokker tried out a tip to clean a footrest upholstered in microfibre fabric .
At the beginning of the video, we see a grayish stain on the beige upholstery - a stain that one cannot ignore, but which will prove difficult to remove. It looks like a liquid stain that has dried out, leaving very visible behind.
At this point, the TikTokker arms herself with the product which the tip recommends: a foam cleaner for cleaning windows. She then covers the upholstery with a generous layer of the foam. Then, with a brush in hand, she begins to vigorously and systematically scrub the entire footrest. You don't see if she rinses the material off or not, but as she passes an upholstery scraper over the footrest, it looks as good as new again.
In the comments, many people agree that glass cleaning products (liquid or foam), can work wonders on dirty carpets and rugs. Have you ever tried this tip?
