Towels wear out over time. Frequent use and washing wears them out and makes them feel rough. They can also get thinner or have holes can appear in them.

If you have some old towels, they can be reused for many other purposes and turned into useful objects, albeit in a different way. With a little imagination and creativity you can do many things with an old towel. Here are just a few:

Using old towels to replace dusters, both for the floor and other surfaces, is a really great idea. And these dusters are, of course, washable and reusable.

The same goes for replacing absorbent paper with a decidedly more ecological approach. Just cut the towel pieces to size, use them, wash them and reuse them indefinitely. And they are nice to look at too.

And what about replacing disposable make-up remover pads? They are super cute, useful and, apparently, even more gentle on the skin. It is really worth trying to make these. With just one towel you can make a load. And they can even be a wonderful and original gift.

The nice washcloths in the picture were made, of course, for children. But they can be made for all ages. They are much more hygienic and skin-friendly than classic sponges. And making them out of old towels is incredibly simple.

Even a nice hair turban is an excellent idea, easily made using an old towel.  

And why not make a colorful beach bag? The soft and absorbent fabric of the towel makes it perfect for the sea-side.

By weaving and rolling up strips and scraps of old, colored towels, you can easily make beautiful and colorful bathroom rugs. For a bathroom that aims to be original and well furnished, these are a easily-made gems.

Finally, here are some magnificent tea towels to hang up in the kitchen. We all know how useful these can be and the fact that they are made with the fabric from recycled towels certainly makes them unique.
