Storing food properly and according to its characteristics is the best way to keep it in good condition, safeguarding its quality and avoiding waste. Not to mention that it good practice to avoid risks and dangers to our health and keep food safe and tasty.
Each product has its own composition and characteristics and therefore requires specific conditions to be preserved in the best possible way. And there are many tips we can use to guarantee the perfect preservation of certain foods.

Citrus fruits, and fruit in general, should be kept out of the fridge and rather stored at room temperature. It has been found that lemons kept in the fridge, completely enclosed in plastic, remain intact for a very long time. However, this would only applies to lemons.

To quickly dry aromatic herbs and be able to preserve them perfectly, bake them for a few minutes at 180 degrees C. You can then crumble them up or chop them finely and put them in containers.
To preserve lettuce, wash it thoroughly, dry it by dabbing it with a clean cloth and then place it in the refrigerator.
Cheese generally does not do well in a vacuum. Therefore, taking into account that each type of cheese has its own characteristics, its own of maturation and conservation rules, the general rule is that cheese be kept wrapped in paper or a damp cloth. It is not recommended to use plastic film or containers.
