Handbags are, for many people, an essential accessory and lynchpin in any self-respecting wardrobe. They can make an outfit, and have the power to enhance any attire. - The first tip to avoid wear and tear is to avoid stacking handbags on top of each other or, worse still, keeping them in piles. Doing so will cause it to lose their shape. - If you want them to keep their shape, especially those of higher quality and value, always fill the inside with wrapping paper, avoiding using newspapers and magazines which could fade and stain the lining.
- To protect handbags from dust, humidity and anything that could damage the external surfaces, try to keep them in the covers that are provided to you at the time of purchase. When you don't have them, you can get some by using old pillow cases.
- To keep them clean and soft - if they are made of leather - you should dedicate yourself to cleaning them at least a couple of times a year. Wipe them gently with a damp cloth or towel to remove any dirty residue. Allow it to dry and apply a neutral moisturizer.
- If a bag has stains that are difficult to remove, you can try using a cleansing milk that treats dirt without being aggressive.
- Another tip that many do not know about is waterproofing bags with water repellent sprays. These are products that are easily found in shops and they protect almost any type of material or fabric from rain or other liquids. This way, you will safeguard your bags from any possible damage.
- Finally, do not to overfill the handbag when you use it. Too much stuff crammed inside or too much weight significantly limits a handbag's durability, worsening its condition.
