There are some people who ride around, unperturbed, with the bodywork of their car showing off scratches and dings. Then, there are those who have pristine-looking vehicles. But what about the tailpipe? Usually, is not cleaned at the car wash, and although not many notice it, it is likely that the tailpipe is filthy.

This is inevitable, given the function it performs, but it is also true that you can make it shine again like new using a very simple tip - which is shown in a TikTok video.

According to what @tiktokmechanicc's account shows, the method to make an exhaust pipe shine like new again is really easy.

In fact, you only need the following:

  • Some tinfoil
  • A detergent for washing windows. NOTE: the type used in the video is the foam type, and not a liquid one.

That's all there is to it! And the process is just as easy:

  • Scrunch up the aluminum foil to create an abrasive sponge ball. Aluminum is often used to clean metal surfaces in the home, and it will work here too.
  • Cover the entire tailpipe with the foam glass cleaner.
  • Rub vigorously with the aluminum foil.

The result, judging from the video, is stunning: the metal is shiny and chromed again as if it were new! You can see for yourself by clicking here.

In fact, tinfoil used in the kitchen is also an excellent remedy for cleaning silverware that has tarnishing, as well as for removing superficial traces of rust from various metal objects. And if a gleaming tailpipe is important to you, this remedy is worth trying.

Obviously, be careful to only use this method when the car has been turned and the tailpipe is cold. In any case, it is best to protect your hands with gloves. Good work!
