A clever tip to reduce the drying time of the clothes dryer

In many homes, the clothes dryer is a godsend: if you do a lot of laundry because there are so many people in the house, it is difficult to find the space necessary to hang out all the laundry and/or without dramatically increasing the humidity levels of laundry rooms. Not to mention that, during the colder periods, air drying times are very long.

Sometimes, however, even the help of the dryer is not enough - especially if the model is already a few years old. However, there is a simple tip to speed up the drying times of the appliance, and it really consists of a single action.

OK, to be accurate there are actually two actions, as TikTokker @carolina.mccauleyin shows us in one of her videos. But the "tool" used is just a single one: a clean, dry towel. To avoid mishaps, it is always best to use a white towel, and it does not matter if it is an old one. The important thing is that it is clean and, when used, is completely free of any dampness or humidity.

All you have to do is put the towel into the dryer's drum, along with the rest of the laundry. Then start the designated drying cycle, and after only 15 minutes of drying, stop the cycle, remove the towel and let the appliance finish the cycle.

The towel will absorb most of the moisture released by the rest of the laundry, effectively helping the appliance to do its job properly. The dryer will stop sooner, so you will also benefit from a reduction in energy consumption. And all this is achieved with a single towel.

If you've never used this tip before, check out how easy it is here.
