Useful household tips to make everyday life easier
There are tips that can revolutionize our lives. They are tips that not everyone is aware of, but which are potentially capable of saving time and money and benefiting everyone's health.
Some are more widespread than others. All of them are important for preventing many of life's problems and inconveniences. We have listed some of the most useful and important tips below:
Prevent bad smells developing in shoes - use a spray deodorant in the shoes. Even more effective, however, is to treat them with a disinfectant. The deodorant will fix the effect, but not the cause; the disinfectant, however, by eliminating bacteria, can solve the root of the problem. In any case, let them dry out thoroughly before wearing them again.
If you have parquet and need to do some work on the walls, it is advisable that you cover it with plastic, to keep it in good condition and avoid staining or scratching it.
When something in glass breaks and the fragments scatter on the floor, one way to find even the smallest shards and remove them, avoiding getting cut, is to dim the lights and turn on a torch.
Always check the hidden areas of the home where there is a risk of mold forming due to humidity. If you find it, make sure you eliminate it with the correct products, otherwise it will return in no time.
Putting anti-scratch pads under the feet of the bed is the ideal way to increase the space under the bed and protect the floor.
When washing towels, shake them out before hanging them up. They will dry faster and stay softer.
Not everyone knows that water transfers heat quickly. This means that it is better not to take stuff out of the oven using wet gloves or wet pot holders because you risk getting burned.
An effective tip to remove a stain from white shoes - especially those that are not recommended to be put in a washing machine - is to brush them using hydrogen peroxide.
When a weak stream of water comes out of the shower head, it may be due to the fact that the hardness of the water has given rise to a lot of limescale that has clogged the holes in the shower head. Just use a toothbrush soaked in vinegar to fix this problem.
To prevent zippers of sweatshirts getting damaged (or deformed) in the washing machine, always close the zippers and avoid washing at high temperatures.
Use wool balls for the dryer instead of disposable sheets (and which are readily available at shops). They will speed up the drying, making garments softer and lint-free, avoiding the use of chemicals and potential allergens. Otherwise, tennis balls are a good alternative!
