Is washing windows difficult? No more, thanks to this handy, DIY window cleaning method!
Washing the windows is a job that we always hope to be able to put off, due to the effort it entails. Especially when the windows and mirrors are very large or when we have difficulty using ladders (for mobility or vertigo issues). The windows are particularly difficult, because if not cleaned properly, streaking can make them look even dirtier before.
From those who use newspaper with ammonia, to those who prefer special sponges that can be purchased today, to those who prefer to rely on the domestic cleaner - everyone has their own tips for a perfect glass cleaning. A woman on TikTok teaches us a perfect technique to clean windows effortlessly, and without climbing a ladder or buying expensive tools! Let's find out about this technique:
Swiffer broom, glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth
Cleaning windows has never been easier and faster than with the method taught by @maizimmy. All you need to do is get a microfibre cloth, a bottle of your favorite glass cleaner (in the video she uses a foam, but as long as it is a non-rinse cleaner, it's fine) and a Swiffer-type broom.
1. Spray on the cleaner
First of all, after freeing the mirror or glass from objects that can obstruct it and make cleaning annoying, you spray the glass cleaner over the entire surface.
2. Prepare the broom and cloth
The second step consists of putting the micro-fiber cloth onto the broom's foot as if it were a duster, inserting the edges into the holes on the back. Let any excess cloth remain free, to prevent creases.
3. Cleaning
Now pass the cloth over the mirror or glass. Rub the cloth carefully over the entire surface of the mirror, taking care not to leave any detergent residues.
And that's it! As you can see, using this DIY window cleaning tip you can save time and effort: the length of the broom allows you to get anywhere - even if the glass or mirror is very large or if you have mobility issues. Watch the video to follow the step-by-step instructions.
Among the comments someone posted was that cleaning the mirror would be quicker than to prepare the cloth on the broom. Obviously, this technique is useful for large windows and large mirrors. Unfortunately, for small bathroom mirrors, the best way is still good old elbow grease!
