We are not always aware of the real reasons why certain objects - which we may use or see on a daily basis - are made in a certain way. We often ignore their true functions and do not exploit their full potential. Sometimes there are historical reasons, linked to factors that no longer count today, that drove certain designs.

Hangers, which we all use to hang up clothes in the closet, now exist in different materials, but once they were only found in wood and this is why they were created this way: the wood used was able to keep moths and small insects away.
All Lego characters have a small hole in their heads to protect their small owners. The hole lets air through, preventing choking if accidently swallowed.
