Cleaning and more: 7 tips to make life at home easier
There is something very satisfying about having a ready solution for the various inconveniences of everyday life, no matter how small they may be. Some days, our patience is put to the test and every little thing that goes wrong gets on our nerves. So, avoiding these annoyances from the start is a way to ensure a little more peace of mind.
At home we can then resort to a range of tips and tricks that will help us: from stopping towels from slipping off rails, to fixing impression dents in carpets, below you will find some very popular tips that might be useful to you too.
Restoring carpets
It is very annoying to see a carpet that bears the mark (impression dent) from some piece of furniture that used to stand on it. To make the surface level and soft again, you can use an iron and a damp towel. Place the towel on the affected area, and then pass the iron over it, using quick, linear movements.
Non-slip tea cloths and towels
If you usually drape your tea cloths or towels over the handle of a piece of furniture or appliance (other the oven) and they always slide off, attach a clip that will hold the rear-facing fold. This will make sure it doesn't slip off anymore!
Alternatively, you can use a bit of velcro and join the two "inside" faces of a towel when it's placed over the handle or towel rail!
For perfectly-made bed
Sometimes, lifting the mattress to tuck the sheets in underneath it when you are making the bed, can be difficult.
You will be pleased to find out that there are products that help sheets slip under the mattress, and are shaped like spatulas with a long handle.

There are areas where we use phones and tablets more often, and we usually leave them there to charge as well. Instead of leaving these devices precariously balanced and with tangled cables, set up a charging station. You can do this by recycling a magazine or document holder!
Ever-fresh water
When the thermos is missing, there is a very useful way to have fresh water which lasts for a long time: fill your bottles up to one third full only, then freeze them. Once frozen, fill the rest of the bottle with water - the water will remain cold for ages!
Make perfume last longer
An old trick that not everyone always remembers is to apply a little Vaseline on the spot where you usually place your drops of perfume. Rub a small quantity of vaseline of the spot, and then apply the perfume: the perfume will last much longer!

Crank can openers are very useful, but sometimes they are impossible to position correctly. When you have this difficulty, it is probably because you are approaching the task from the wrong perspective! Some can opener models should not be positioned vertically (i.e. parallel to the can's side), but horizontally (i.e. parallel to the can's top)!
