Sometimes, there's nothing as pleasant as being wrapped up in a warm, soft, comfortable sweater, and certainly each of us has one - or more - ready for winter.

Even if we only take our sweaters out in wintertime, it's always a bit of a struggle to put them neatly back in the cupboards. And we can't use hangers as they risk being damaged by gravity pulling on them. So how do you prevent just a couple of bulky sweaters from taking up all your closet space? Just learn the right technique to fold them up, as shown on TikTok. We show this method below: it's really easy and useful, and you can also use it for your other clothes, if you want!

TikTok account, @effectivespaces, shows us how easy it is to transform a bulky sweater into a compact, neatly folded "package". Here's how to proceed:

  • Spread the sweater out on a bed or on a table, with the sleeves to the sides;
  • Bring the right sleeve to the center, crossing it horizontally over the chest;
  • Do the same with the left sleeve, overlapping the right sleeve;
  • Now you will have a square: take the left side and fold it towards the center.
  • Do the same with the right side. You will now have otained a rectangle with the "slit" down the center, and the neck of the sweater at the top;
  • Fold down (towards you) the neck area of the sweater, so that only one third of the entire length is free at the bottom;
  • Take the free flap and bring it up, inserting the neck into it.

Your "package" is now ready. Click here to see a video of this technique being used.

This method works well with sweaters that have a normal neckline. For turtlenecks, you should first turn the neck down, without closing the opening.
