6 useful solutions to annoying, everyday inconveniences
There are things that we do every day without thinking about them, following a procedure that is executed like we are on auto-pilot. And similarly, we use many objects in the same way, and without asking ourselves if there is another, perhaps more efficient way, to do these chores.
So, it is useful, and maybe even fun, to take a look at some interesting suggestions from the web, which can simplify our everyday lives. Take a look at the ideas below and see if they could be useful for you:
Opening hard, plastic packages: certain stationery items and accessories of many different types, are packed using layers of very thick, hard plastic, sealed tight. We can use sharp scissors to open them, but it is even easier to do so if you have a can opener handy (of the type with the hand crank!). Very little effort required to make a very precise cut!

Peeling garlic is always a bit tedious. If we only have to do it for a couple of wedges, it's not such a big deal. But if there are many wedges to deal with then it is useful to find a quicker way of peeling them. Just put the wedges in a jar, close it, and then shake it up like a bartender preparing cocktails!
If you want to quickly refrigerate beer or any other beverage, you can reduce the cooling time by wrapping the bottle or can in wet kitchen paper and then placing the bottles for 15 or 20 minutes in the freezer.
When you need to connect an electric cable to an extension cable, and then go around the house or the garden with your power tools, make sure they don't uplug themselves by pulling free while you work. The trick is to tie a simple knot before inserting the plug into the extension!
Stop a straw from moving around in a can of Coke, beer or any other similar, fizzy drink. Just use the metal tab with which you opened the can: the small hole in the tab is a perfect way to hold the straw, which will remain in place until you have finished drinking.
If you want fried eggs with a perfect round shape, use onion rings. Just cut a few onion rings (thick slices), and they can be used as a containment barrier for the egg white. Then it will be up to you to decide whether to eat the onion rings too or to discard them after the eggs are cooked.
