Everyone gets tired of seeing the home always looking the same, and there are also situations where you have to wait for a long time before you can change something substantially, for whatever reason. Reviving the look of a room, however, can have a therapeutic effect on our mood: colors that enhance the space, making the most of natural and artificial light, can make a room more livable. Even more so if we work or study at home, spending long periods of time in there.

If you can't proceed with total makeovers, don't worry: you can bring a breath of fresh air into your home with small, targeted furnishing interventions, which will allow to make you to fall in love (again?) with your home.

Repainting

Painting is not just the walls: even the furniture can look completely new with a coat of paint (in a color different to the original, if already painted). You can paint all or part of the units, and / or combine several colors ... Unleash your creativity!

Photo / picture gallery

Prints, illustrations, drawings and, above all, photos of the family, holidays, important events. Let the house talk to you, and consider setting up a gallery on a blank area of a wall. It can also be placed along the edges or in the corners of a room (or in the wall space above the sofa or the along the stairwell)!

Throws, plaids and sofa covers

Fabrics work wonders to cover damaged areas or for changing the mood of a room. A sofa with faded upholstery becomes beautiful again with a nice sofa cover of the right type. And using blankets, curtains, cushions and the like, help to give color and style to a room - so pay attention to the color palettes and to the materials!

Wall shelves instead of the standard solutions

Lighten the feel of the furniture in a room by replacing some bland, boring bookcases with shelves directly mounted to the wall. It will open up the space of any room!

Block colors

Accent walls have been the rage for many years, but now it's time for block color walls. The difference between the tow lies in the fact that instead of painting an entire wall, for blocking, only a portion is is used, outlining a geometric shape on it that "dances" on the wall and blends with the other room elements (doors, windows, shelves ...).

Even on a small portion of the vertical wall under a sloping roof, the idea of the color blocking manages to work wonders with minimal effort: here's just a simple triangle of paint!

Removable wallpaper

If you already know that you will want to change your mind in a few years, use removable wallpaper, so you can change the style of a room many times for relatively little expense.

Adhesive tiles for the backsplash

In addition to painting the furniture, your kitchen could be given a completely new look if you work on the backsplash. And you can also do this using adhesive vinyl tiles - which cost much less than other traditional solutions and have a thousand different styles to pick from.

... and for the floors

There is also this type of solution for floors: there are those who use them in the bathroom, in the closets and in the laundry rooms, but they can be installed almost anywhere.

Are you ready to rejuvenate the look of your home?
