10 unique ideas for decorating with recycled objects of all types

An old world globe to nobody uses anymore; mismatched silver cutlery remains in the drawers; traveling with an outdated trunk which is neither fashionable, safe nor efficient. What should we do with objects like these? They certainly have a charm of their own but they take up space in the house and just get dusty now that they have fallen into disuse. If we don't want to sell them or give them away, we can reuse with some creative recycling projects.

Often, in fact, finding the right idea is enough to inspire us to take advantage of some old, forgotten article stuffed into the attic. For example, we could create a new piece of furniture for the home. Shelves, cabinets, chandeliers and many other pieces of furniture can be created in this way!

Antique suitcases, with all the beauty of a bygone era, can be stacked one on top of the other to create a unique étagère (i.e. a piece of furniture with open shelves for displaying ornaments).

An old travel trunk, a forerunner of today's modern trolleys, can be fitted with feet and placed open in a corner: with some shelves mounted inside, it becomes a very original, custom-made cabinet.

Sometimes it's just a matter of a coat of paint! The old, classic style for chests of drawers can be integrated into an eclectic mix of furniture with a little gold leaf paint!

Another idea for vintage suitcases: transform them into a footrest pouf.

Globes are objects that always make you dream, and it's nice to see them suspended in midair, like floating worlds. You can do this by turning them into light fittings!

And why not make a light fitting from a beautiful paper umbrella from the Far East?

It is unfortunate to realize that something as grand and noble as a grand piano is no longer used and has been disassembled, but it could have fallen victim to humidity (are suffered some other mishap). Instead of discarding it, it can remain in the home as ... a bookcase or mobile bar!

And you can even use the part that still has the keyboard attached.

The idea of a vintage TV that has been turned a mobile bar is always a lot of fun.

Metal cutlery that no one uses anymore can become excellent hooks for hanging up clothes and more (and including becoming unique handles for furniture units)!

Have you ever recycled old objects in these creative ways?
