Table centerpieces using old drawers: 10 inspirational ideas
It may happen that you have to get rid of an old piece of furniture that is now shabby and worn. Alternatively, you may decide to transform this furniture into something completely different, using some of its parts and modifying others. Therefore, some piece of furniture that has run its course disappears and makes way for something new and original - and perhaps in the process some old, leftover drawers will find a "home".
There are many ways to recycle drawers creatively, and one of the simplest is to convert them into adorable table centerpieces, to be used for all seasons of the year - or perhaps to be used simply as convenient storage boxes for Christmas decorations, for example. Check out the ideas below, and find the one that may be right for you:
Get some simple glass jars, fill them with flowers and put them inside the drawer (especially if it is narrow and long). Et voilà, the centerpiece is ready to go.
Instead of jars / pots with flowers, you can alternatively use candles in the centerpiece, during the evenings and at any time of the year. Depending on the season, you can change the leaves, flowers or even the fruit you used for additional decoration.
Even a piece of furniture with its drawers still attached can be used as an original centerpiece with a vintage flavor.
And don't avoid using even the smaller and more compact drawers: they can become absolutely adorable flower pots.
Another idea, also useful for boxes made of raw and unfinished wood, is to make pots for succulents. With little soil and a few stones to cover the surface, it will be a beautiful effect to behold.
With internal compartments, a narrow drawer can act as a perfect storage container and not just a centerpiece!
Even the shorter and wider drawers can be used to decorate tables - especially those in the living room. And to give them an extra touch, you can add wooden feet.
.. or maybe top with a resin or fake glass sheet.
If necessary, the jars that are used to hold flowers can also be used as cutlery holders: perfect for a buffet party.
Again, just think of a drawer as a pot holder, fill it with pots of flowers or seedlings and it's done. And they are ideal for preparing an aromatic container (filled with potpourri, for example) to keep in the home.
