Learn from TikTok, three different ways to fold jeans depending on the space in which you want to store them
When space available in the house is scarce, every method that helps us to create a gap becomes truly precious. And we don't always realize how much extra space clothes take up in wardrobes or drawers when they're not folded neatly and neatly arranged. In addition to it being a question of aesthetics (i.e. there is no doubt that seeing piles of well-ordered clothes in the drawers and on the shelves is satisfying), it is also a question of utility and efficiency. We will have more space for the other things we need to store and we will also be able to find what we are looking for much more quickly - being visible at a glance and not buried under a jumbled mountain of clothing is certainly much more helpful.
So, if you have jeans to put back in your wardrobe, you might find it useful to use a specific method of folding them, depending on the type of space into which you want to put them: whether they are shelves, deep drawers or small spaces, below are the methods used, and shown, on the TikTok @effectivespaces account.
Shelves
If you want to put your jeans on a shelf, try this folding method:
- Spread the jeans out on a table or bed.
- Fold each leg up at the same time, bringing the ankles to the waist of the jeans.
- Fold the jeans in the same direction again.
- Fold one half of the jeans on top of the other.
It only takes a moment!
Deep drawers
In this case:
- Spread the jeans out on a table or bed.
- Fold them in half on themselves lengthways (one leg on top the other)
- Take the two ankles up towards the waist of the jeans, but not all the way: you should stop about 20 cm below the waist
- You will notice that the crotch of the jeans protrudes from under the folded fabric: bring this to the center, just above the folded legs.
- Take the bottom flap of the folded jeans and tuck it into the waist so that the label on the back is clearly visible.
Small spaces
For small spaces, do this:
- Spread the jeans on a table or bed.
- Fold the waist of the jeans down so that it reaches the crotch (i.e. where the legs start).
- Fold each leg three times on itself and tuck it into the waist.
- Fold the resulting "package" in half, and it will bcome super compact.
This TikToker also indicates a rule that applies to all three methods: "Always leave the labels facing out, so you can easily recognize the jeans". You can see, in just a few seconds, how to master each of the three methods in this one video.
