10 amazing ideas to turn glass bottles into wonderful creations
Glass is one of the most recycled and reusable materials of all time. It is a material that can be relatively easily melted down and turned into almost anything. At the same time, it is reusable almost indefinitely due to its chemical and physical properties.
When glass is recycled, the production of raw materials is avoided which, although not very polluting, takes thousands of years to be broken down of by the forces nature. And also, the use of energy and the dispersion of huge quantities of CO2 (carbon dioxide) harmful to the planet is avoided when we recycle glass. The advantage of reusing glass bottles - instead of putting them in the recycling - is that many are objects so beautiful and versatile that they can be transformed into something else with brilliant, stunning results.
Take a look at the many wonderful ideas below:
Apparently the most obvious, but always very effective, idea is to transform glass bottles into vases. This can be done by leaving them as they are (i.e. transparent), or perhaps choosing colored ones. Or you can decorate or paint them, as suits your tastes and various furnishing needs.
And you can also consider decorating the bottles and turning them into magnificent candle holders.
By inserting lights and sea-themed elements (like shells) inside them, you can make a fantastic decoration in the typical coastal style found in holiday homes.
Using iconic bottles like Jack Daniel's, to make soap dispensers out of them is a great addition for bathrooms and kitchens (or other areas where you wash your hands).
And with the same iconically shaped bottles, you can create magnificent lamps in a pop style.
Iconicity of the bottle is a factor that characterizes many other famous brands. The legendary Coca Cola bottle is perhaps the most striking example of this. You can create small lamps to be fixed to the wall, and much more.
A light fitting / chandelier made with colored bottles could revolutionize the aesthetics of an interior (which previously may have been a bit boring). A great idea that is truly worth trying.
The colorful wind chimes, which can be made using any type of material, can also be created with glass bottles and are an excellent way to decorate gardens, balconies and verandas.
Also to an exterior, a wall of glass bottles is just as beautiful. Spectacular walls can be made. Especially in daylight, they are a visual treat.
Finally, an ingenious idea can be to put some plants in the top half of an inverted bottle. This is then filled with soil and the roots are fed down the neck of the bottle. When done, this inverted bottle can be placed into a glass jar containing water. Using this system, the roots will end up directly in the water. More than a creative idea, it is a very useful gardening tip and we know that green thumb tips are always very popular.
At this point, what project do you want to try? You just have to start experimenting to find out.
