Furnishing the garden often allows you to indulge yourself with creative recycling projects, especially if your green corners are set up in such a way as to accommodate decor with a rustic style. Thus, many old and unused objects return to new life if they are used in an original and artistic way: this is the case with wooden barrels, tin basins and even old, galvanized milk cans.

These are items that evoke a bygone era - although they have not entirely disappeared from circulation - and because of this, they have a truly enchanting, rustic charm. Given their shape, strength and durability, they can be used in many different ways, such as simple decorations or even as garden furniture. Check out the ideas below:

Old, galvanized metal milk cans are objects that are rarely used now and therefore retain all the charm of an object of yesteryear.

And while they are very beautiful left in their natural state - even when a little rusty or marked by time - it is not a bad idea to paint them either.

Often, if they are used as a planter, they are actually used more often to support for some bowl or pot placed on top ... But there are also those who fill the milkcan with earth to directly plant flowers and other plants inside. There is only the challenge of ensuring proper drainage to address.

Another way they can be used is as a simple arrangement to display outside the entrance - they have a rustic charm that suits any season or holiday.

Milk cans are heavy objects and sturdy metal, which makes them capable of supporting even heavy weights. That is why they can also be used without a problem, as a support for an outdoor coffee table - simply by mounting a wooden lid on top.

And even in this case, why not paint everything in a uniform color?

Or maybe use stripes that reflect the decoration of some other upholstery decor pattern in the sitting room.

Bigger and taller ones can become stools - just add a seat securely bolted to the top.

A fountain can be made from a milk can which can be placed in the middle of the garden.

Or place a bowl on top to make a birdbath.

Just like terracotta amphorae or old wooden barrels, they are perfect for creating flower beds with scenes of flowers being poured out onto the ground.

Would you like to decorate your garden with an old milk can?
