Having a garden is a great pressure relief valve during any period of the year - especially on those days when the temperatures allow you to spend time outdoors in company. So, when we want to relax alone or with guests, it is nice to have an area equipped and ready to welcome us, with chairs, sofas, benches or any other type that we like.

If you are looking for inspiration to create an outdoor living room or relaxation area, take a look at the ideas below and you may find the perfect idea for your green corner!

A living room made from pallets adapts to many different contexts, but it seems the perfect match for a bucolic setting.

If  you usually cook outdoors with a barbecue, pizza oven or you like to gather around the brazier, a concrete relaxation area that also includes space for the wood is an excellent solution.

When there is a brazier in the middle of a demarcated area, usually the seating areas are arranged around it in circle: why not create an area permanently ntended for this use, setting up a circle area on the ground and with custom-made furniture?

It's also nice to experiment with raised flower bed borders that describe curved lines and turn into the back of the seating area - and this solution also works in smaller patios.

In windy spots, and to enjoy the outdoor relaxation area even when it is no longer very hot, you could consider creating an outdoor living room with a brazier in a hollowed out pit in the garden.

Wooden sleepers or beams, cut into squares: just these are sufficient to create outdoor benches.

With wooden furniture, especially rustic versions, it is essential to sand it properly to avoid splinters and remember to stain and seal the wood with suitable all-weather oils so that it can withstand the elements.

When you decide to use a corner of the garden as a living room, the idea of demarcating the space with a shape on the ground is a good idea: instead of using a carpet or wooden flooring, you could make sure to leave the ground exposed or to cover it with gravel (but there will always take some maintenance to control the weeds).

If the sitting area is close to the house or some wall or fence, you could consider wooden furniture that also acts as storage containers.

And to take advantage of the shade of a tree without having problems with ground beneath that is not perfectly level, you can build a level platform that runs around the trunk.

How would you like to set up your outdoor living area?
