Crochet kids summer tops: be inspired by many vibrant and colorful patterns!
Tank tops, tunics, ventilated ponchos and more: even for children it is possible to use the crochet technique to make such clothes which are perfect for the summer.
Vibrant and colorful, crochet projects that are made with soft, loose stitches - i.e. those that create a product that is not too thick and heavy - are really ideal for the warm season. There is plenty to pick from when it comes to the choice of cotton to use (or maybe also linen!). And the most suitable colors for the design of the garment can be chosen by the person who will ultimately be the recipient of your wonderful creation! Be inspired by the ideas below for making lovely summer tops:
Fresh and summery, this top is very light: a trapezoid weave produced mostly by a high knit and then decorated with fringes that cover the front of the bustier, while the back remains bare. A lace around the neck and one tied to the back to close it, and you are done. This top is also perfect as a beach cover-up! This is a small project, without difficult stitches or techniques: it is completed quickly and you can go wild with the colors!
A T-shirt with just the hint of sleeves - it almost looks like a tunic. Also in this case, the work is not too elaborate, but ends up creating an open-faced diamond pattern that works best using a single color yarn and maybe best in neutral shades. Once you have completed one for a child, you will probably want to adjust the measurements to make one for the adults too!
Halfway between a mini-dress and a long, sleeveless top, this garment is super versatile and can be customized by choosing any combination of colors you want for the V-shaped stripes. If you continue to work past the edge, it will become a summer mini-dress proper with a flared hem.
Soft and very comfortable, this ventilated poncho is another garment that can be used in many different ways and occassions. It can replace a light shirt when it's cooler, be combined with tank tops for a versatile look, or even become a sundress or beach top.
A top that passes don beyond the waist, flaring softly: it is ribbed and embellished with simple details at the edges that make it also suitable for going out on some important occasion.
A tunic to be used by itself or on top of a tank top or T-shirt: the workmanship is simple, and the style is a little boho (bohemian). It is up to you to decide whether to use yarn all in one color or combine several colors ... or perhaps find a compromise with a melange of colors.
Another crop top knotted at the neck and that leaves the back free, with fringes on the belly (also called a halter-neck top). Here, however, the bodice is made with solid panels and decorated with flowers: this too seems to reflect all the lightness and freedom of summer!
And what about a comfortable sleeveless tunic with wide armholes and sides decorated with pompoms? Perhaps it would be of great appeal even in a monochromatic yarn. But it is definitely a simple model that it allows you to go wild even with shades of the rainbow (or combinations of several colors).
