You will obviously need to pay attention to the type of material your balcony's floor is made of. Each material requires, for its cleaning, different products that eliminate dirt, preserving it from wear and tear.
The most common surfaces we find, in general, are those made from marble, terracotta and porcelain stoneware.
Marble flooring:
A marble floor, although very elegant and refined, is always the most difficult and exhausting to keep clean. To clean mable optimally, mix together a tablespoon of baking soda and a tablespoon of Marseille soap until the mixture is homogeneous. The mixture obtained must be added to a bucket full of water and then you can proceed with a normal floor washing. The result will be very satisfying.
Terracotta floor tiles:
When it come to terracotta balcony tiles - which are undoubtedly the most popular type - there are two main tips to use to get terracotta tiles to shine. The two "magical", natural and easily available ingredients are vinegar and lemon. Both of these, in addition to cleaning and polishing beautifully, have a strong smell that can help you to keep insects away (such as ants and mosquitoes). Just add a glass of vinegar or the filtered juice of a large lemon to your bucket of water and wash the floor as normal.
Porcelain stoneware tiles:
Finally, porcelain stoneware tiles, which are also very popular, can easily be polished with apple cider vinegar. Pour a glass into a bucket of hot water and wash the floor as normal. Also in this case, a positive result is guaranteed.
As is often recommended when it comes to cleaning large surfaces, we suggest you try the remedies indicated above in a hidden or inconspicuous corner of the balcony first to test the reaction.
All that remains is to wish you happy cleaning and wonderful summer evenings on the balcony!
