Are your days surrounded by chaos? Help yourself with some useful accessories
We all know that a tidy house helps us to face each day in a better frame of mind: we move around in the various rooms easier, we sleep better in the bedroom, we find everything we need easily and without getting impatient, it takes less time to clean the various play areas, etc ... the benefits of a tidy home are many. But it is also true that to get (and keep) order in the home, you need to be constantly vigilant and never stop putting things away immediately after using them.
And if the space is limited, this becomes even more difficult. To help us, however, we can take advantage of some accessories and gadgets designed to solve many daily problems. Here are some ideas:
No space to mount rails under the sink or on the inside of some furniture unit's door to hang spray cleaning products? There are special adhesive hooks you can get to be placed wherever they are needed.
If you have a desk that doesn't have enough space for a pen / pencil tray or a stationery tray, (and the nearby drawers are all already full), maybe you can consider installing mini adhesive drawers - also perfect for tables that don't have any drawers at all.
For whatever piece of furniture you need to tidy up, consider whether you can use transparent plastic containers: these come in all sizes and shapes, but always favor the square ones which are designed to be stackable. You can use them for storing make-up, cans from the pantry, or for utensils and stationery ... a little of everything can be stored away.
If you are one of those who leaves their jewelry and accessories scattered around or tossed into drawers, perhaps it is best to consider using some compact trays and getting a jewelry box with a design that matches the rest of the room.
Another eyesore in the house that bothers us even when we don't seem to notice it, are the tangles of cables near to our electrical appliances and computers. Invest in boxes and tubes to organize and hide these power cables from view. They also protect the cables from wear and tear (and dirt)!
And containers really help us everywhere, and in the fridge they are also an great ally for maintaining hygiene, as they make cleaning so easy. To make using them even easier, set them up with custom-made labels.
Plastic tupperware also takes up a lot of room in our kitchen units - especially if these plastic containers are just tossed into the drawers.
But we can alieviate this chaos by using dividers that seperate out the lids from their bottoms and store them in an orderly manner.
Studying and working producing a forest of post-its and notes scattered around the PC? Use a special blackboard!
In the bathroom we often use cotton wool disks to remove make-up (not to mention the use of cotton swabs and many other similar, smaller products): when each item is kept in its original packaging, it uses up more space and overall does not create a very good impression. So again, why not use special containers with multiple compartments to store these (de-packaged) items?
If you are one of those who has a bag ready for the end of the world, and it is loaded with more things than even Mary Poppins had, consider buying organizers to put inside the bag which is full of pockets and useful compartments. Be careful to check the measurements, and find dividers which will fit properly into your "run away" bag.
